"We've had two horses at GPE for several years now and I'm just as happy with the care they are receiving today as the day we pulled in. As a busy parent and business owner, knowing that our horses are receiving the best care and attention is priceless. KYB takes care of absolutely everything. Their feeding program is top notch and includes a daily lunch of beet pulp. They take care of feeding supplements, blankets are on/off (and even washed when needed) and turn-out is customized to what our horses need. They take care of worming, the equine dentist, the farrier and will take care of any medical needs you have. Due to the heat this summer, the boys were frequently hosed down. The best part? All this care is included with my board! I am always 100% confident that Dutch and Wimbledon are in safe hands when we're out of town. The amenities for me personally were beyond my wildest dreams when I arrived! I have wireless internet if I need to take a quick meeting. Basically, I feel like a member of a family here - including joining the GPE staff for meals and get-togethers. Thanks for everything you do!"
I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with the Barteaus for many years. I have been able to see and experience the highest levels of horse understanding, care and training. It is with huge sincerity that I can recommend KYB Dressage to anyone looking for a wonderful dressage partner to learn and grow with. I have the greatest horse in the world, Redson, who I got from Kim and Yvonne Barteau 10 years ago, a tall redbay Dutch Warmblood cross. He has an amazing people loving, wise and steady personality plus a “10” for rideability. When we were both new to dressage he sailed around looking spectacular and acting like he was my guardian angel. Through this horse I was not only welcomed into the fun dressage competition world, but wound up winning most of our classes. The lessons and shows were so much fun and are memories that I hold dearly. Kim and Yvonne knew this was the right horse for me because they specialize in not only the care and training but also understanding horse and rider personalities and the interactions that can make a successful partnership. Purchasing my new horse at KYB was a great experience! When you walk into KYB Dressage, it is obvious that this is a professional and well-run barn. When my trainer and I arrived the horse we came to see, Jazz, was ready to go. After our first ride, we were able to take our time to work with Jazz on our own, so we could get a good feel for Jazz’s personality under saddle as well as her behavior during everyday things like tacking, grooming, getting a bath, longeing, etc.
KYB was very accommodating and flexible when it came to scheduling visits and the pre-purchase exam, despite being in the middle of a very busy show season. As someone who has a hectic schedule of her own, KYB’s flexibility was most appreciated! They really make an effort to make the visits low-key and easy, yet consistently professional. I never felt rushed or pressured during any of our visits, and my trainer and I were given whatever time we needed to fully assess Jazz and make sure she and I would be a good match.
KYB helped make the horse-buying process simple and easy. Anyone who is looking for a finished dressage horse or a dressage prospect should certainly consider a horse from KYB. I am so happy to have Jazz as my dressage partner, and I am excited as we begin our journey together!
"The dressage training at KYB dressage is beyond A+. I have searched for three years for excellent dressage training, as I am a convert from h/J. I had almost given up trying to find excellent training as I had in the hunters and jumpers, and needed it as I had a good horse but it is learning a new way to ride. I serendipitously met Yvonne Barteau on Facebook and she helped me through video at first. It worked. So I brought my young horse for training and only planned to stay a week with my older horse. Well, after a week I realized I was in dressage Heaven. You will not find better trainers in Yvonne and Kym Barteau, and their assistants Amber Gibb and Hudi Barteau. They are tough but extremely kind and compassionate to riders and the LOVE the horses. Their success nationally has been continuous over the years. Their staff is nice, friendly, very responsible ad competent and will go the extra mile for you. The facilities are excellent too. KYB is the very best, if it wasn't I would not be commuting between Virginia and Illinois to train here. Just beyond excellent!!!!!"
"I have been a boarder at KYB for 3 years with 2-3 horses in full training. I feel that the barn is professional, well staffed and excellent care is always given. I have confidence and a comfort level when Im gone that my horses are given the upper level training that I want for them and their training goals are updated on a regular basis with trainers and myself. I have progressed as a dressage rider in riding and showing while there. I drive 1 hour each way and it is worth it." |
